About our scholarships
Annually we award a number of scholarships to students enrolled to study in medical or allied health training and education.
Who can apply?
Scholarships are open to students to students who reside in the Blue Mountains City Council Local Government Area (LGA). Applications are open each calendar year to students planning on tertiary studies the following year in health. Scholarships are awarded each December ahead of the school year. To apply for the must fulfil the following selection criteria
Must be live and or attend school in the Blue Mountains (completing the HSC)
Must be planning on entering study in medical or allied health at tertiary institution (as an Undergradute).
You will also need to supply references, acceptance letter from educational institution and school reports to verify your application.

How much is scholarship?
The scholarship is valued at $10,000. It is paid over the duration of the course and is designed to assist students with expenses incurred during the period of the their studies.
What are the key dates?
Submit applications - 31st October each year
Interviews - Week Commence in November each year
Trustee Review of Applications - Reviewing late November each year
Scholarships Awarded - Week Commencing December each year
Are there any conditions?
Yes. The following outlines the conditions for the scholarship.
You can only apply for the BMHT scholarship once and this must be made prior to commencing a tertiary course in a health related subject.
Each payment is made only after receipt of the relevant documentation advising of end of term results and enrolment into the following semester.
Should the scholarship recipient drop out of, or change to a non-health related subject, the scholarship will be terminated.
Those taking a gap year between the end of high school and starting their course will be considered.

The student is responsible for completing the application fully and attaching relevant documentation supporting the application (eg. outside school activities, such as sport, volunteering).
